Wednesday, Sept. 01, 2004 - 10:19 a.m. I'm back... On the bus back to the airport we sang a couple of songs together...col how you can sing the same song, in the same language and not even live in the same country. We went through x-ray security threee times in the airport in Kyiv. I guess that's pretty typical there. Also bought me some cuban cigars! The flight was uneventful though we had the same movies and cartoons as on the way back with the exception that we got to see two bugs bunny cartoons. in New York as we got into the customs line, my mom, who was sporting her cane asked an agent if we'd have to wait long in the giant lines. He said yes then looked at her and asked if she was travelling alone. She said that her son was with her. Without missing a beat he unhitched the lane dividers and took us both to his own check in booth and processed us both. WOOOHOOOOO!! Thank you Lord!
We got to New York and hopped in a pseudo-limo to get us to La Guarda for our 8pm flight. (It was a SUV and a paid driver!!!) He got us to the airport around 5:20 at which point we were greeted by another angel, a Sky-Cap who knew the flights to Chicago and told us we could probably still make the 6pm flight (we were scheduled to leave at 8); he promptly took our bags and ID's to the check in counter and got us on the 6pm flight. We were in!!! As a result we got home right about as we would have been leaving. Home was great to see though with the dog in kennel it was quiet. Went to McDonald's to welcome ourselves back home... ~peace~ mp
