Songsalive! showcase was a blast. Once again, everyone performed amazingly. Bruce T. Holmes, Sandy Andina, Shelley Miller, and the up and coming Farwell, were all excellent and really brought their game faces that day. I appreciated the folks that came out as well, Jeremy, Dr. Brian Courtney and his entourage, Alex Rudawsky and his friend; thanks to all of you!

The next day was the gig at Arbor Vitae; also an amazing time. The venue is totally intimate and it's common to carry on conversations with the folks about the music. From a couple that's been married 35 years in September, to Bilingual (French and English) Scrabble players (Liz and Lira-sorry if it's spelled wrong)to the folks from Chicagobones, to Greg Steele, a fellow Chicago Songwriters Collective Colleague who stopped by for the second set, to Keenan, who is starting to play guitar, to others who listened, applauded, tapped their feet and smiled..Thank You for the support! and thanks for sharing the evening with me. I had a blast!

Today was more laid back, church in the morning, then I hit the gym (the smoothie booth had NO bananas!!! How can a healthclub be out of bananas??!?!)

Came home, made my self a rib sandwich (BBQ rib meat mixed with ketchup, worcesteshire, soy sauce, and honey, placed on two slices of Garlic Bread and drizzled with French Quarter dressing:-) ) watched the white sox and went fishing afterwards.

Caught one small bass but the highlight of the day were bullfrogs. Big, mega frogs that insisted on chasing my 3" mouse luer along the surface. One daddy (or big momma frog) was about two feet offshore and looking away from me because it was looking at my luer. So I quickly reeled it in and then poked the frog in the rear end expecting it to jump out of fear. Instead, this frog does an immediate about face and stares directly at me (was it a princess under a spell perhaps?) as if to say, "Excuse me but are you talkin' to me??? Last I checked this was my lake and I believe YOU are the guest here??!" I fully expected this thing to lunge at me with it's tongue flailing!!

I grabbed my pole and walked (quite quickly actually) to another spot. I've never been intimidated by a bullfrog before, but I believe this was the first time.

Now it's time to chill and get ready for another week.

~peace~
