Finally got the sound system. The day went by waaay too fast.
The gig was fantastic! It started about an hour later and the bill said that Michael Pallechia was playing. Talk about typos!! They assured me that it was indeed me playing that night. The crowd was wonderful... there was a wonderful sharing going on; people playing jenga and singing along, requesting tunes (and I actually was able to fill some of their requests!) most notably Puff the Magic Dragon, Tip toe through the tulips and Bob Dylan among others (to each song people sang along!) Some friends from Texas that I met a Cubs rooftop party were there as well!!!
Ended up playing until almost midnight (3 hours!!!) Some blisters and calluses got resurrected;-) Well worth the night though.
The Markwiese's (the friends I'm staying with down here) helped pack (ROADIES!!!!!!) and did an awesome job. They've been so good to me and patient with my schedule. THANKS!!!!
Got home, had some cheese, Port (from the wine tasting a couple of days ago)and chocolate cake. Then....Bed.
Today, it's either the Bedford Blues fest or maybe the museum and the Egyptian exhibit. We'll see. Then gig tonite!!
