Showed up at my bros for a house concert at 4pm yesterday. I was going to be playing for 15 people from the area who don't get a chance to see me often.
Instead, I walk to the door and am greeted by 15 people whose sole purpose is to surprise me for my 40th B-day party! Yes indeed, a surprise it was! In fact, since it was a month early, I really had a tough time figuring out why these people were yelling surprise, and at me yet! It wasn't until one of my sisters (in law) said "Happy Birthday!" did I realize it was mine!
At that point I was promptly garbed in a grass skirt and coconut shell bra and a couple of lays(sp?) and the games began!
It was truly a great time to chill and spend time with family that I haven't seen in a while as well as friends who came in from out of town for the occassion. My family TOTALLY tricked me.
Turns out the only playing I did was some bluegrasss jamming with my bro on the banjo after most of the people had left.
Good food, love and time together....
