Fun gig tonite. Not a big crowd but very intimate setting and a cool crowd. There was a young boy there with his family, he loved my stuff. His folks bought him a CD and I signed it. Just watching him enjoy the music was payment enough.

Quite eventful night though. Just as I started to play, a torrential downpour began and the warning sirens began droning outside. I stood there wondering whether to play or run for cover. One of the workers there (Kelly) made a crack about us all going to the bathroom where I could serenade. We rode out the storm without going to the bathrooms.

As I finished the first set, I went to get my guitar out of the way and the strap gave way. My guitar crashed to the ground. I finished the set with Stray Cat Strut sung acapella, trying not to betray the fact that I was concerned because my guitar just crashed to the floor! No damage was done and the incident led to my sharing a story about how I tried to learn to swing a guitar over my shoulders on stage but didn't know that a special strap was needed. We all laughed.

Met a regular there named Mike; well read and a heck of great guy. We talked after the show about life, music, art, philosophy, you name it. It was refreshing to talk to someone who appreciated music but more importantly, appreciated life and the opportunites we all have as individuals. He was the official photographer for the evening.

Stopped off on the way home for a hard cider at the Irish pub as the rains continued to fall...
